
This is an image of the
Ophichus star forming region.
The J (1.25µm ) image has been mapped to blue, the H (1.67µm ) image to green ,
and the K (2.2µm ) image to red.
This image is only a small portion of the entire mosaiced region. The
large mosaic
is 764,900 bytes, but shows the approx. 35´ × 35´ area centered on the
Ophichus cloud core.
An x-ray image is also available of this cloud. The centers of the two images are approximately the same, but the diameter of the x-ray image is twice the size of the large infrared image. This image was made available by the HEASARC WWW image directory.
